On the precipice…….

Blogged on: 11 September, 2006 (23:09) | blog

When someone asked me ‘what is the difference between a musician and a pizza?’ we all laughed when he said ‘a pizza feeds a family of four!’

I don’t have a ‘family of four’ but  I do want to change the general tendency to accept that a musician has to settle for a life on the margins of society with material insufficiency, volatality and insecurity in order to pursue their art and creativity.

Now I’m feeling on the cusp on a giant wave. Will it come crashing down on me or will I surf and navigate it well to take me beyond the precipice?

Been working so hard to push my life forward - others are too! Want to be myself, shape my destiny to create an authentically happy life, to share my heart and music with the world.Want to earn a proper living for all the hard work and the value we create.I and all the people supporting as part of the Jimmy Golding team absolutely deserve this!

Now the album is out and people are really enjoying and engaging with the music ,voice and lyrical messages -it all feels so right. There are many more peoples’ hearts and minds to touch and inspire..

This is the crystalisation of a great vow and a life-long commitment and it seems like a few personal sacrifices have been made on the way.Now the impossible is happening..there are obstacles and fears looming to stop me moving beyond self imposed limitations, the subtle undermining messages of others and society and deeply ingrained patterns of disrespectful thinking.

I want the strength and courage to see these troubles as no more than ’dust before the wind’. I refuse to be unhappy!Must keep moving forward and believe in the ‘abundance of life’.Cannot look behind me now - like driving a car on full throttle and looking in the rear view mirror -you crash!

Trust my vision and decisions.Look straight ahead.Don’t settle for second best.Make dreams a reality! Great joy and victory are waiting and now it’s time to leap……

New album out

Well here we are finally after all these years - a new album and website! This is the culmination of hard work, perseverance and the irreplacable help and support of beautiful friends and great talented individuals.I suppose my main mantra for the last 3 months of processing and taking action has been :

‘I am being me, I believe in what I do and this is a valuable contribution to humanity!’

I hope my music can inspire and touch your heart in some way - it makes all the struggles and soul searching worth it.Would love to hear from you. Feel free to share and communicate your thoughts and feelings.

Jimmy Golding.
